Pretty things at Collective 6.0
With so many talented people doing their thing in Joburg, you’ve just got to love the idea behind the Collective pop-up market. It gives a selected group of designers and entrepreneurs specialising in trendy, edgy, handmade, vintage, take-us-home-with-you items an alternative platform to showcase their wares.
This smallish market happens once a month at 3 Desmond in Kramerville (expect some impressive views) and the 6th instalment took place this past weekend. In addition to the clothes (still thinking about this one dress!) and my fave Postcard Revival Project (wrote about it here), these things also caught my eye:
These are all from Room Online. Yay for the ceramics, napkins, fabric bags – ag, everything.
Loved the Suzaan Heyns store, especially the accessories and how they were displayed. Must say, the guy at the shop was s-o-o-o patient with Robin (the husband) who was determined to get a shot of that humming bird skull pendant.
Pretty, intricate brooches and pendants from Trinket Design.
Vintage shoes (some displayed on this old suitcase), dresses and shirts from Love you long time.
The Tweet shop had an array of things – cocktail rings, earrings, scarves, woolly gloves and this sweet little fox, which came home with me.
Some frames from Noah, a new-ish label by some super cool people.
One of the best things about the Collective market is that you get to talk to the designers or brand owners – and learn more about them and their products. Like the Facebook page or visit Collective’s site to find out more about the brands that'll be popping up at the next one.
